Friends of Belmont Chapel and Island Cemetery
The Friends of Belmont Chapel and Island Cemetery was established as a 501 (c) (3) as of January 01, 2025 to promote the preservation and conservation of the Belmont Chapel and of the Island Cemetery burying ground. This is a reorganization of the Belmont Chapel Foundation (BCF) and the Friends of Island Cemetery. The BCF, founded in 2013 specifically for the restoration of the beautiful memorial, has been absorbed into Friends as a recognition of the completion of the restoration and the ongoing need to focus on preservation of the both the building and the entire cemetery grounds, as well as, the administration building and the maintenance garage.
Donations made to the Belmont Chapel preservation fund are deposited into an endowment fund created for the specific purpose of providing the funds needed for maintenance to the building.
